KUWAIT CITY, May 5: Kuwait’s Cabinet, chaired by His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Ahmed Al-Abdullah, strongly condemned the Iranian missile and drone attacks targeting the United Arab Emirates, reaffirming Kuwait’s full support for all measures taken by the UAE to safeguard its security and sovereignty.
Following the meeting, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs Shereed Al-Maousherji said the Cabinet stressed its solidarity with the UAE after attacks on civilian sites left several injured.
The Cabinet was also briefed on a message sent by His Highness the Emir Sheikh Meshaal Al-Ahmad to Recep Tayyip Erdoğan of Turkey, focusing on strengthening bilateral ties and addressing regional developments. The message was delivered by Foreign Minister Sheikh Jarrah Al-Jaber during his official visit to Ankara, where he also held talks with Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan.
On the legislative front, the Cabinet approved a draft decree-law on Maritime Installations and Floating Units, citing the urgent need to modernize regulations more than six decades after the 1960 “Small Vessels” law. The draft law will be submitted to the Emir for final approval.
The Cabinet also reviewed regional and international developments, including ongoing diplomatic efforts led by the Foreign Ministry, and discussed coordination with friendly nations to تعزيز security and stability.
In addition, ministers approved several agreements and memoranda of understanding aimed at strengthening Kuwait’s international partnerships.
On the domestic front, the Cabinet endorsed urban development initiatives, including landscaping, greening of major streets, and painting bridges at highway intersections, in cooperation with private sector contributors, to enhance the country’s aesthetic appeal and promote sustainability.
Amid ongoing regional security developments, the Cabinet reviewed preparedness measures by ministries and government agencies to ensure the safety of citizens and residents and maintain essential services.
Given the rapidly evolving situation, the Cabinet confirmed it will remain in continuous session to monitor developments at both local and regional levels.
