Kuwait Busts Salmiya Warehouse for Changing Country of Origin of Water Pumps

KUWAIT CITY, Oct 27: Kuwait’s Ministry of Commerce and Industry, in coordination with several government authorities, has taken legal action against a Salmiya warehouse for altering the country of origin on water pumps.

The operation was carried out in cooperation with the Ministry of Interior’s General Department of Criminal Investigations, the Kuwait Fire Force, Kuwait Municipality, the Ministry of Electricity, Water and Renewable Energy, and the Public Authority for Food and Nutrition.

According to the ministry, the warehouse was caught changing the declared country of origin of water pumps, a practice that can mislead consumers about the products’ actual origin.

The authorities said all prescribed legal measures had been taken against the violator, with each participating government entity acting within its respective jurisdiction.

The coordinated inspection reflects efforts by Kuwait’s government agencies to monitor commercial activities and address violations involving the accuracy of product-origin declarations.
