Asian championship kicks off
RIYADH, Jan 18: Kuwait’s national handball team comfortably defeated Jordan 42-31 as the Asian championship kicked off in Saudi Arabia’s eastern city of Dammam. The Jordanians managed to take an early lead in the first half, only for the Kuwaiti side to turn things around in the second half and earn a well deserved victory.
The action-packed first day will also feature other matches including Iraq versus the United Arab Emirates, while host nation Saudi Arabia would take on India after a lavish opening ceremony.(KUNA)
