KUWAIT CITY, Dec 11: The Acting Director of the Meteorological Department, Darrar Al-Ali, has forecast light and scattered rainfall across the country over the weekend, along with the possibility of evening fog in several areas. He noted that daytime weather will remain generally moderate, becoming cool during the early evening and turning noticeably cold late at night.
Speaking to the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA), Al-Ali explained that current weather maps and numerical models indicate that Kuwait is being affected by an extension of a surface low-pressure system accompanied by a cold and humid air mass. This system is expected to increase the presence of low- and mid-level clouds, mixed with cumulus clouds, resulting in scattered rain—some of which may be accompanied by thunderstorms. He added that these conditions are likely to continue until Thursday afternoon.
Al-Ali further stated that fog formation is expected in certain areas during the evening and early morning hours, which may reduce horizontal visibility. Winds will be southeasterly and variable at times, before shifting to light-to-moderate northeasterly winds that may occasionally strengthen.
Today’s Weather Forecast
According to Al-Ali, today’s weather will be mild and cloudy to partly cloudy, with northeasterly to variable winds ranging from light to moderate and sometimes becoming active at speeds between 10 and 40 km/h. Scattered rain is expected, with occasional thunderstorms, along with a chance of evening fog. Maximum temperatures are projected to range between 20°C and 22°C. Sea conditions will be slight to moderate, with waves rising between 2 and 6 feet.
