Kuwait Braces for Dust Storms, Strong Winds and Possible Thunderstorms

KUWAIT CITY, Apr 27: Kuwait Meteorology Department has warned that the country will experience a spell of atmospheric instability later on Monday, with adverse weather conditions expected from 6:00 PM until midnight.

In a weather advisory, the department said southeasterly to southerly winds will strengthen significantly, exceeding 60 km/h, triggering dust storms and sharply reducing horizontal visibility, particularly in open areas.

The unstable conditions are also expected to impact marine activity, with sea waves forecast to rise above 7 feet. Authorities further cautioned about the possibility of scattered thunderstorms during the period.

Residents and motorists are advised to exercise caution, especially on highways and in exposed areas, while seafarers are urged to remain alert due to rough sea conditions.
