KUWAIT CITY, Jan 14: The acting Director of the Meteorological Department Dhirar Al-Ali stated that the country experienced cloudy weather on Wednesday with suspended dust, which resulted in reduced horizontal visibility. Al-Ali explained to the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) that weather maps and numerical models indicate the country will be affected by an extension of a high-pressure system accompanied by a very cold and dry air mass, with light to moderate northwesterly winds ranging from 10 to 35 kilometers per hour, for the next five days. The cold winds will be accompanied by a noticeable drop in temperatures to below three degrees Celsius, particularly in agricultural and desert areas, with the possibility of frost forming in those regions.
Maximum temperatures during this period will range between 14 and 16 degrees Celsius, while minimum temperatures will range between 2 and 5 degrees Celsius, making the weather generally cool to cold during the day and cold to very cold at night. Al-Ali urged motorists on highways to exercise caution due to reduced horizontal visibility on some roads. He also warned asthma and allergy patients to wear masks when going outside because of rising dust levels, especially with increased humidity. Al-Ali stressed the importance of following weather bulletins through the department’s official website, application, and social media platforms to stay informed about the latest weather developments.(KUNA)
