KUWAIT CITY, Jan 24: The Public Authority for Manpower on Thursday carried out a large-scale inspection campaign in the Shuwaikh Industrial Area, led by Director General Engineer Rabab Al-Osaimi, as part of a comprehensive effort to regulate the work environment and protect all parties involved in the production process.
In a statement, the Authority said the campaign falls within its ongoing efforts to regulate the labor market and ensure compliance with labor laws and regulations. The inspection drive involved 37 inspectors who conducted 123 visits covering labor inspections as well as occupational safety and health checks at industrial establishments.
The Authority recorded 44 violations during the campaign, while 79 establishments were found to be compliant after verification of adherence to labor laws and approved occupational safety and health standards.
The inspections included the implementation of 123 emergency electronic inspections during the first inspection round, conducted through coordinated field campaigns. These inspections involved issuing notifications and carrying out labor inspections alongside real-time electronic monitoring related to occupational safety and health at workplaces.
The Authority noted that violations were documented for the first time through the electronic emergency inspection system, with instant digital notifications sent to employers via the workforce inspection system.
Al-Osaimi said the campaign is part of an integrated oversight plan being implemented by the Public Authority for Manpower across various regions, with the participation of specialized inspection teams. The plan aims to verify compliance with labor regulations and ensure the application of approved occupational safety and health standards.
She explained that the inspections focused on monitoring establishments’ compliance with labor laws and employment relations, particularly in relation to labor inspections and occupational health and safety requirements. These measures are intended to protect workers’ rights, promote a safe and stable work environment, and at the same time safeguard the rights of employers.
Al-Osaimi stressed that the Authority will continue to intensify field inspection campaigns, in line with its pivotal role in supporting economic development, achieving stability in the labor market, and strengthening partnerships with the private sector in a manner that serves the public interest, the statement said.
