KUWAIT CITY, Dec 27: Kuwait’s national handball team kicked off training in Croatia, ahead of a second camp in Slovenia, as part of final preparations for the Asian Championship, which Kuwait will host in mid-January. The Blues are in Group C with the UAE, India, and Hong Kong.
Icelandic coach Aron Kristanson and his Danish assistant Heini Jensen are leading the sessions, with three friendly matches planned to fine-tune the squad.
Delegation head and Handball Federation Secretary General Qaid Al-Adwani praised Minister of Information and Culture and Minister of State for Youth Affairs Abdulrahman Al-Mutairi for his support in advancing Kuwaiti sports and facilitating player releases. “Supporting national teams is second nature to him,” Al-Adwani said.
He added, “Hosting the championship allows us to showcase Kuwait’s sporting progress in Asia and achieve organizational excellence. This preparation phase requires full cooperation to ensure the Blue team is ready for a challenging tournament.
