Kuwait Bans Iftar Distribution, Outdoor Mosque Prayers Over Security Concerns

KUWAIT CITY, March 10: The Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs on Tuesday reaffirmed its commitment to the safety of worshippers and mosque visitors, citing the current security conditions in the country and the region.

In an administrative circular, the ministry prohibited setting up Iftar tables or distributing meals inside mosques or in their external courtyards. The use of mosque courtyards for prayers or any other activities has also been suspended.

The ministry further stated that prayers in Ramadan tents outside mosques are not allowed, while night prayers during the last ten days of Ramadan may be held from midnight for half an hour only.

The circular warned that violators will face legal accountability, emphasizing that these measures are intended to protect worshippers, prevent harm, and serve the public interest.
