KUWAIT CITY, Jul 5: The Ministry of Interior has announced that Hussainiyas must adhere to specific guidelines, including the exclusive display of the State of Kuwait flag. Only one banner without slogans is permitted on the Hussainiya. The erection of tents or kiosks outside the Hussainiya walls is strictly prohibited and will be promptly dismantled if found. Additionally, holding marches is forbidden.

The rituals will continue throughout the month but it peaks on the 10th, the day on which Hussein Bin Ali (May Allah be pleased with him) was martyred in the battle of Karbala. Shia Muslims spend the day in mourning, while Sunni Muslims fast on this day

This directive aligns with the start of the month of Muharram. It follows a coordination meeting between the Ministry of Interior, Hussainiya supervisors, and the Cabinet's instructions and recommendations, according to the General Department of Security Relations and Media.

Security personnel will be stationed within the Hussainiyas to manage traffic and ensure security. Volunteers are prohibited from engaging in organizational activities outside the Hussainiya walls, such as directing traffic or organizing visitors' seating in the outer courtyards.

The Ministry of Interior urges everyone to follow the instructions from the coordination meeting and to cooperate fully with the security forces during the rituals, seeking their assistance when necessary.

The Ministry emphasized that it will rigorously enforce the law to ensure everyone's safety.
