Kuwait bag 2 medals at Arab Police Judo Championship

Kuwait Police Sports Association Judo delegation being greeted by officials upon their arrival

Judo delegation of Kuwait Police Sports Association returned to the country two days ago from Tunisia after participating in the Arab Police Judo Championship which ended on May 1. Lieutenant Colonel Ghannam Al-Dekan of the Kuwait Police judo team managed to win a silver medal in the under- 90kg category, and Warrant Officer Hussein Hassan won a bronze in the over-100kg category.

The Kuwait team, upon arrival at Kuwait International Airport, were received by the board member of the Kuwait Police Sports Association Colonel Saad Al-Hamlan, who was accompanied by First Lieutenant Saad Kamel. Kuwait Police Sports Association also participated in the meetings of Arab Police Sports Union Executive Committee and sub-executive committee which were held on the sidelines of the judo championship. Heading the Kuwaiti delegation in the meeting was Secretary General of Kuwait Police Sports Association and a board member of the Arab Police Sports Union Executive Committee Major General Saud Al-Khidhr.

The meeting was attended also by the association’s administrator Emad Behbehani. The technical committee meeting was attended by Colonel Waleed Al-Shihab, and the meeting of Women Committee was attended by Captain Bodour Al-Ostad. On behalf of the delegation and the association, Major General Saud Al-Khidhr expressed his profound appreciation and gratitude to the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Khalid Al-Jarrah for the huge positive support he offered the delegation before and after its participation, and also appreciated his keen concern for the sports activities of the police. He lauded the Undersecretary of Ministry of Interior Lieutenant General Mahmoud Al-Dousari and Assistant Undersecretary for Correctional Institutions and Sentences Enforcement and President of the association Major General Abdullah Al-Muhanna for their support. Major General Al-Khidhr also expressed gratitude to Ambassador of Kuwait to Tunisia Ali Al-Dhufeiri for his generous reception and his follow-up of the delegation’s participation in the championship.
