KUWAIT CITY, Nov 17: The Ministry of Interior, through its Traffic and Operations Sector, has intensified its efforts to safeguard public safety and reinforce a culture of responsible driving. As part of these measures, the General Directorate of Traffic—specifically the Security Control Department—has taken decisive action against several vehicles whose drivers were found committing grave traffic violations marked by extreme recklessness and disregard for road safety. Such behavior, authorities stressed, poses a direct threat to other motorists and pedestrians.
Following the completion of all legal procedures, the seized vehicles were transported to a metal recycling facility, where they were crushed. The Ministry described this step as consistent with its firm policy toward traffic offenses that jeopardize public safety or undermine traffic security.
Officials reiterated that these actions fall within a comprehensive and long-established framework aimed at protecting lives and reducing dangerous driving practices that can lead to both human casualties and significant material damage. The Ministry emphasized that the law will be applied strictly to anyone who endangers others on the road.
The Traffic and Operations Sector confirmed that inspection and monitoring campaigns will continue around the clock across all governorates to ensure a safer traffic environment built on respect for the law.
The Ministry urged all motorists to act responsibly, adhere to traffic rules, and comply with the instructions of traffic officers, stressing that such cooperation is essential to preserving their own safety as well as the safety of the community at large.
