KUWAIT CITY, May 12: The Ministry of Commerce and Industry, in coordination with the Ministry of Interior, has apprehended a violator for breaching regulations on the sale and display of used and expired car tires, officials said.
The operation was carried out by emergency teams from the Commercial Control and Consumer Protection Department as part of enhanced inter-agency cooperation to enforce Ministerial Resolution No. (216) of 2014, which prohibits the sale, possession, and trading of used tires and those exceeding 24 months from their production date.
Authorities said the suspect was promoting and selling the banned tires through a social media platform in violation of the law.
During the inspection, officials seized 60 tires found to be in breach of the regulations. A formal seizure report was prepared, and legal proceedings have been initiated against the violator.
