KUWAIT CITY, Aug 16: The Capital Governorate inspection department of Kuwait’s General Food and Nutrition Authority seized approximately 180 kilograms of beef and mutton, including cow and sheep feet, after determining that the meat was unfit for human consumption.
Inspectors found that the meat was rotten and had undergone visible changes in its natural color, appearance, and smell, with foul and abnormal odors detected. Authorities also discovered that the violators had tampered with the seals on the meat, which indicate the slaughter date, apparently in an attempt to conceal the products’ information and mislead consumers.
Seizure reports were issued against those responsible, while destruction reports were prepared for the confiscated meat. Legal action has also been initiated against the violators.
