KUWAIT CITY, Jan 6: A total of 289 expats from various nationalities, found in violation of the Residence and Work Law, now find themselves in the custody of Residency Investigation officers. These arrests were made in different areas, namely Fahaheel, Mangaf, Farwaniya, Shuwaikh, Hawalli, Khaitan, Al-Hasawi, and Kabd.
The joint efforts of the General Administration of Residence Affairs Investigations, including the Research and Investigation Department, the Control and Coordination Department, the Violators Follow-up Department, and the Financial and Administrative Services Department, conducted intensive inspection campaigns. The targeted areas were Fahaheel, Mangaf, Farwaniya, Shuwaikh, Hawalli, Khaitan, Al-Hasawi, and Kabd, resulting in the apprehension of 289 individuals. These individuals were found to violate the Residence and Work Law, representing a variety of nationalities.
Among those arrested were 9 individuals caught in possession of a quantity of local alcohol, 13 marginal workers, a street vendor, and an individual found with narcotics. Legal measures are currently being undertaken against them, and they are being referred to the appropriate authorities for further action.
