Kuwait authorities confirm normal air quality after drone-linked refinery fires at Mina Al-Ahmadi

KUWAIT CITY, April 3: — The Public Authority for Environment in the State of Kuwait and the Kuwait Petroleum Corporation have issued a joint statement confirming that air quality levels remain within safe and normal limits following fires at the Mina Al-Ahmadi Refinery earlier today.

According to the statement, environmental monitoring systems and air quality measurement stations at the refinery recorded no abnormal readings after multiple refinery units were affected by fires triggered following a reported drone strike on the facility this morning.

Officials said current data indicates that pollutant concentrations in the surrounding ambient air are within approved environmental and public health standards, and do not pose a risk to residents or surrounding areas.

The two entities stressed that specialist technical teams are working continuously around the clock to monitor emissions and environmental conditions at the refinery and across all Kuwait Petroleum Corporation facilities.

They added that the ongoing monitoring is aimed at ensuring the highest levels of safety, operational integrity, and environmental compliance across industrial sites and nearby communities.

Authorities did not report any immediate health hazards or evacuation orders, and said surveillance and assessment efforts will continue as precautionary measures.
