Kuwait assures World Bank of support

KUWAIT CITY, Dec 16, (KUNA): Kuwait’s Chamber of Commerce and Industry said on Sunday that it stands ready and able to cooperate with the World Bank Group (WBG) to ensure that common economic development goals come to fruition. Kuwait’s Chamber of Commerce and the WBG have launched several joint initiatives, its chairman Ali Al-Ghanim said in a statement after meeting the international organization’s resident representative in Kuwait Ghassan Al-Khouja.
The WBG has enlisted Kuwait’s aid to achieve its main goal of ridding the world of poverty, in addition to strengthening the economies of some of the world’s most underdeveloped nations, Al-Khouja said. On a related note, he said Kuwait’s office at the WBG will soon celebrate the decennial anniversary of its inception.
