Kuwait arrives in Dubai ahead of FIBA Asian Cup qualifiers

The Kuwaiti delegation arrives in Dubai.

DUBAI, Aug 23: Kuwait arrived in Dubai ahead of the first window of the Asian qualifiers for the 2029 FIBA Asia Cup, which begins on August 25 and runs until August 31.

The Blues are drawn alongside the UAE, Bahrain, Oman and Nepal. Kuwait will begin its campaign against Oman before taking on the UAE the following day. The team will then face Nepal on August 29 and wrap up the group stage against Bahrain on August 31.

The delegation is led by National Teams Director Mishal Mohammed, with Assistant Secretary-General Owaid Al-Anzi and board member Mohsen Al-Anzi also part of the delegation.

Greek coach Vassilios Bratsiakos, who was recently appointed to lead Kuwait, has named a 12-player squad for the qualifying window: Abdulrahman Al-Jumah, Abdulaziz Al-Hamidi, Hamad Adnan, Ahmed Al-Bloushi, Abdulmohsen Al-Mousawi, Imran Johar, Ali Al-Hadhoud, Turki Al-Shammari, Yousef Naseeb, Khalifa Al-Omani, Abdul Latif Al-Faraj and Faisal Al-Husseini.

Kuwait concluded its preparations with a training camp in Cairo, where the team played several friendly matches aimed at improving the players’ technical and physical condition before the start of the Asian qualifiers.
