Kuwait Arrests Social Media User for Posting Air Defense Clips

KUWAIT CITY, Jun 3: Kuwait’s Ministry of Interior said that competent authorities have arrested the user of a social media account after monitoring content that included video clips showing air defenses intercepting missiles, in violation of regulations related to public safety and national security.

The ministry stated that the individual filmed and published footage of military and security operations, an act it described as harmful to the public interest and contrary to official guidelines. It also noted that the suspect was found to have recorded the footage while driving, which led to a traffic accident, constituting a separate violation of traffic laws.

Authorities stressed that recording or sharing images and videos of military sites, security operations, or field defense activities is strictly prohibited and will face legal action. The ministry reaffirmed that it will take firm measures against anyone violating such regulations, particularly under current exceptional circumstances, and urged citizens and residents to comply with all security and safety instructions.
