KUWAIT CITY, May 18: The Kuwait Ministry of Interior announced the arrest of a criminal gang specializing in burglaries and thefts following an investigation by the Jahra Governorate Criminal Investigation Department’s Al-Sulaibiya Investigation Office.

According to the ministry, the case began after authorities received a report that an unidentified individual had broken into a branch of the Al-Sulaibiya Cooperative Society after smashing the glass entrance door. The suspect, who wore a face covering to conceal his identity and evade surveillance cameras, allegedly stole an amount of cash from the branch before fleeing the scene.

Security teams immediately launched investigations and carried out technical analysis and surveillance camera reviews, which led to the identification and arrest of the suspects.

During questioning, the accused confessed to carrying out the theft and guided security personnel to the face covering used during the crime, which had been hidden on the roof of a house in the Al-Sulaibiya area.

Investigations further revealed the gang’s involvement in five additional unresolved theft cases that were carried out using the same method, the ministry said.

Authorities stated that legal procedures are being completed ahead of referring the suspects to the competent authorities.

The Ministry of Interior reaffirmed its commitment to pursuing lawbreakers, combating crime, and safeguarding public security and property across Kuwait.
