Kuwait Arrests Azerbaijani Woman for Running Unlicensed Clinic From Her Home

KUWAIT CITY, Aug 13: : Kuwait’s Criminal Security Sector has arrested an Azerbaijani resident accused of practicing medicine without a license and operating her private residence in Jaber Al-Ahmad City as an unauthorized medical clinic in exchange for money, the Ministry of Interior said.

The arrest was carried out by the General Department of Criminal Investigation, represented by the Department for Combating Counterfeiting and Forgery Crimes, following information that the woman was receiving patients at her home, providing medical consultations and examinations, and preparing and selling herbal mixtures without obtaining the required approvals or licenses from the competent authorities.

After conducting investigations and confirming the information, the authorities obtained the necessary legal authorization and raided the residence with the participation of female police officers. The suspect was apprehended while allegedly practicing medicine without a license.

Investigators found that the residence had been extensively equipped to function as a medical facility. A section of the home had also been designated for preparing and manufacturing herbal mixtures, along with producing labels for the products.

During the operation, authorities seized KD 11,651 in cash, a medical bed, various medical examination instruments, a white coat, a patient register, and equipment and materials allegedly used to prepare herbal mixtures and their labels.

During questioning, the suspect admitted to operating the residence as an unlicensed medical facility and providing medical consultations and examinations to patients for fees ranging from KD 5 to KD 30.

The Ministry of Interior said all necessary legal procedures have been completed and the suspect has been referred to the competent authority for further action in accordance with the law.
