Kuwait Arrests 6 Kuwaitis and 23 Expats for Filming Targeted Site Footage

KUWAIT CITY, Apr 5: Kuwait’s Ministry of Interior has referred 29 individuals — including 6 Kuwaitis and 23 expatriates to the competent authorities at the Ministry of Interior for legal action, after they were found photographing a vital site recently targeted in what officials described as blatant Iranian aggression.

The move comes as part of intensified security and monitoring efforts across the country. Authorities stressed that photographing sensitive or strategic locations is a serious violation, particularly under the current security circumstances.

In a separate enforcement drive last Friday, traffic officers recorded a total of 2,327 violations. During the campaign, 22 expatriates were arrested for residency violations, alongside others wanted under existing arrest warrants. Several individuals were also detained for being in an abnormal state and for driving without a valid license.

Traffic-related offences included 79 violations for using mobile phones while driving, 44 for failing to wear seat belts, and 43 for illegal window tinting.

A security source confirmed that all violators have been referred to the relevant authorities for further legal proceedings, underscoring the Ministry’s continued commitment to enforcing the law and maintaining public safety.
