KUWAIT CITY, Jun 15: Kuwait’s General Directorate of Traffic has announced the results of nationwide field campaigns conducted between June 8 and 14, 2026, recording nearly 20,000 traffic violations and handling more than 1,000 road accidents as part of ongoing efforts to improve road safety and enforce traffic regulations.
According to the directorate, traffic teams issued 19,938 violations during the week-long campaigns carried out across various governorates.
Authorities also reported the arrest of 51 wanted individuals, along with the handling of 2,736 other violations involving different traffic and legal offences.
The campaigns resulted in the arrest of:
- 27 residency law violators
- 16 wanted vehicles
- One person without official identification
- Six individuals suspected of being in an abnormal condition
- 11 juveniles, who were referred to the Juvenile Prosecution
Traffic authorities said enforcement operations also led to the impounding of 419 vehicles and 21 motorcycles, while 46 individuals were detained at traffic police stations for further procedures.
During the same period, traffic officers responded to 1,097 collision incidents, including 160 accidents that resulted in injuries.
The General Directorate of Traffic said the campaigns are part of its continued efforts to strengthen traffic discipline, reduce dangerous violations, and protect the safety of motorists and pedestrians across Kuwait.
Authorities confirmed that similar inspection and enforcement campaigns will continue in all governorates to ensure compliance with traffic laws and improve road safety.
