Kuwait Arrests 4 Convicts in $180 Million Public Fund Embezzlement Cases

KUWAIT CITY, June 20: Kuwait’s General Department for the Execution of Judgments has arrested four individuals convicted in public fund embezzlement cases after they attempted to evade authorities and avoid enforcement of court rulings.

The Ministry of Interior said the arrests were carried out by the Criminal Investigation Department as part of ongoing efforts to track down wanted individuals and ensure the implementation of judicial decisions.

According to the ministry, the four convicts were involved in cases related to embezzlement and causing significant financial damage to public funds, with the total value of the alleged losses estimated at around $180 million.

Security teams conducted extensive search, investigation and field surveillance operations across several areas of the country before locating and apprehending the individuals.

The Ministry of Interior stressed that enforcing court judgments is a legal responsibility and confirmed that security agencies would continue their efforts around the clock to locate and arrest those attempting to evade justice.

The ministry urged individuals against whom court rulings have been issued to voluntarily surrender to the relevant authorities and resolve their legal status instead of waiting for security operations, including raids, arrests and detention procedures.

It reaffirmed that authorities would continue security campaigns against wanted persons to uphold the rule of law, enforce judicial decisions and protect public security.
