Kuwait arrests 2 Asian drivers after 12 bags of “Meth” found buried in Zahraa area

KUWAIT CITY, May 17: Hawally Security Directorate’s Support Patrols have arrested two drivers on charges of possessing and promoting narcotics after they were caught allegedly retrieving hidden drugs from an open parking area in the Zahraa area.

According to a security source, patrol officers became suspicious during a routine patrol when they observed two individuals digging in a sandy area and extracting concealed objects. When officers approached, the suspects attempted to flee in a vehicle but were quickly intercepted and apprehended.

A search of the suspects revealed 12 transparent plastic pouches containing the narcotic substance Meth “Shabu,” the source said.

Investigations showed that both individuals are of Asian nationality and work as drivers. They reportedly admitted that the vehicle used belonged to the sponsor of one of them, who was not aware of their activities. The suspects claimed their role was limited to distribution and delivery in exchange for payment.

Authorities have referred the accused, along with the seized narcotics to the relevant legal authorities, while the vehicle has been impounded pending further investigation and legal proceedings.
