KUWAIT CITY, May 15: The Ministry of Interior announced that the General Directorate for Drug Control has foiled multiple drug-related operations and arrested 15 suspects linked to nine separate narcotics cases as part of ongoing efforts to combat drug trafficking and substance abuse across the country.

Authorities said the coordinated security operations targeted individuals involved in the possession, trafficking, and promotion of narcotic and psychotropic substances. During the raids, officers seized varying quantities of illegal drugs along with cash believed to be proceeds from drug trafficking activities.

According to the ministry, the confiscated substances included 1,106 grams of hashish, 337 grams of methamphetamine, 255 grams of marijuana, 5 grams of heroin, and 3 grams of Lyrica powder. Security personnel also recovered 138 Lyrica capsules and four digital weighing scales allegedly used in drug distribution operations.

Officials confirmed that all suspects, along with the seized narcotics and related evidence, were referred to the competent authorities to complete legal procedures and investigations.

The Ministry of Interior reiterated its commitment to intensifying anti-drug operations and pursuing traffickers with what it described as “utmost resolve” in order to protect society from the dangers posed by narcotics and psychotropic substances.

The ministry also urged the public to cooperate with security authorities by immediately reporting any suspicious activities linked to the trafficking, promotion, or use of illegal drugs.
