KUWAIT CITY, Mar 16: Kuwait’s Ministry of Interior announced that security agencies have uncovered and dismantled a terrorist cell affiliated with the banned group Hezbollah following intensive surveillance operations. Authorities said the group, consisting of 14 Kuwaiti citizens and two Lebanese nationals, had planned sabotage activities aimed at undermining the country’s sovereignty, destabilizing security, and recruiting individuals to join the organization.

After obtaining legal authorization from the Public Prosecution, security forces carried out raids and seized firearms and ammunition, a weapon allegedly intended for assassinations, encrypted communication devices, including Morse code tools, drones, maps, narcotic substances, cash, training weapons, and flags and images linked to terrorist organizations. Officials said investigations are ongoing and the suspects will be referred to the competent Public Prosecution.

The ministry stressed that the security and sovereignty of the State of Kuwait are a “red line,” warning that any collaboration, support, or sympathy with external terrorist groups will be met with strict and decisive action.
