Kuwait Arrests 12 Suspects in 8 Cases, Seizes Drugs, Alcohol and Firearm

KUWAIT CITY, Sept 29: Kuwait’s General Directorate for Drug Control has arrested 12 suspects in eight separate cases for allegedly possessing narcotics and psychotropic substances for trafficking and personal use.

The operations, carried out by the International Control Department, Local Control Department and Information Department, also resulted in the seizure of locally made alcoholic beverages, a firearm, ammunition, cash and equipment allegedly linked to the drug trade.

Seized items included:

2,565 Lyrica capsules
1,700 grams of hashish
850 grams of crystal meth
150 ml of chemical liquid
100 grams of hashish oil
100 psychotropic tablets
83 bottles of locally distilled liquor
40 sheets soaked in chemical liquid
6 grams of Lyrica powder
6 precision scales
One firearm and a quantity of ammunition
KD 5,790 in cash, identified by authorities as proceeds from sales

The Ministry of Interior said the suspects and seized items were referred to the competent authorities for the necessary legal action.
