Kuwait Arrests 10 Suspects in Drug and Liquor Trafficking Cases

KUWAIT CITY, May 7: The Ministry of Interior's General Department for Drug Control arrested 10 suspects in separate cases involving narcotics, psychotropic substances, alcohol, firearms, and cash believed to be proceeds from trafficking.

The Ministry of Interior said the arrests were part of ongoing efforts to combat drug trafficking and dry up its sources.

Authorities seized 1.1 kilograms of methamphetamine, also known as crystal meth, along with 60 bottles of liquor, 2,218 Lyrica capsules, 2 kilograms of Lyrica powder, three firearms, and two digital scales.

The seized items also included 5 grams of hashish, eight psychotropic tablets, four Captagon tablets, and KD 8,179, believed to be proceeds from illegal trafficking.

All suspects and confiscated items were referred to the competent authorities for necessary legal action.

The Ministry of Interior affirmed that security campaigns will continue to be intensified, stressing the vigilance of field units in arresting anyone involved in importing, promoting, or using drugs.

The ministry urged the public to cooperate with security personnel and report any suspicious or illegal activities to help protect society from the dangers of drugs.
