KUWAIT CITY, Dec 16: In a humanitarian gesture from a country known for its humanity under directives of Sheikh Thamer Al Ali, the deportation center ended crisis of 118 women from the Republic of Madagascar who were arrested for residence violation, by deporting them along with 4 children to their country on a private plane.

After spending a whole year in deportation prison due to the closure of their country’s airport due to COVID19 pandemic, they were finally able to return to their country, reports Al Rai. Madagascar does not have an embassy in Kuwait, The diplomatic effort resulted in sending its citizens back as Madagascar airport has been shut, the DGCA facilitated their travel procedures.

There are international agreements that oblige each country to take care of their citizens, some embassies of some countries do not cooperate and don’t even care for their detained citizens who languish into detention centers. This puts immense pressure on Kuwait govts resources, hence taking into humanitarian consideration the Kuwait govt provides these deportees needs through charitable institutes.
