Kuwait Announces Temporary Traffic Closures on Riyadh Road Starting Wednesday

KUWAIT CITY, Jun 16: The General Traffic Department has announced temporary lane and exit closures on King Faisal bin Abdulaziz Al Saud Road (Riyadh Road) as part of ongoing road works and traffic management measures.

The closures will take effect from Wednesday, June 17, 2026, until Monday, July 27, 2026.

According to the department, the following closures will be implemented:

Closure of the right lane and middle lane on Riyadh Road for motorists traveling from Kuwait International Airport toward Kuwait City.
Closure of the Riyadh Road exit leading to the Fourth Ring Road.
Closure of the Qortuba exit leading to Riyadh Road.
Closure of the Sheikh Zayed Road (Fifth Ring Road) exit leading to Riyadh Road toward Kuwait City from both directions.

The department said the closures will affect motorists arriving from both Salmiya and Jahra, who will be redirected toward Riyadh Road heading in the direction of Kuwait International Airport.

The General Traffic Department urged drivers to use alternative routes, follow traffic instructions, and exercise caution while approaching the affected areas to ensure smooth traffic flow during the closure period.
