Kuwait Announces New Year Holiday; Work Resumes January 4

KUWAIT CITY, Dec 26: The Civil Service Bureau announced that work will be suspended across all ministries, government agencies, public bodies, and institutions in observance of the New Year holiday on Thursday, January 1, 2026, which is an official public holiday.

Official working hours will resume on Sunday, January 4, 2026. However, entities and agencies with special operational requirements will determine their holiday schedules through the relevant competent authorities, in accordance with public interest considerations.
