KUWAIT CITY, Nov 16, (Agencies): The Ministry of Public Works has entered into an agreement with the SYSRTA alliance to conduct a comprehensive study on the financial, economic, and technical feasibility of a railway connection between Kuwait and Saudi Arabia.

This collaborative effort aims to establish a sustainable and efficient railway link, enhancing connectivity for safe transportation between the two countries. Eid Al-Rashidi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Public Works, emphasized the significance of this agreement, reflecting the shared vision of His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad and the Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia, Mohammed bin Salman.

The project aligns with the goals of economic integration and strengthening social ties. With an estimated distance of 650 kilometers between Kuwait and Riyadh, the study endeavors to reduce travel time to approximately two hours through efficient railway connectivity. Al-Rashidi commended the swift efforts of both parties, culminating in the agreement within a short period of nine months.

The completion timeline for the agreement is set at six months, underscoring its prioritization within government programs overseen by the Ministry of Public Works and closely monitored by His Highness the Prime Minister.
