MUSCAT, July 16: Kuwait’s national volleyball team faces a decisive test tomorrow, Saturday, when it takes on Qatar in a key Group A clash at the second West Asia Men’s Volleyball Championship in Muscat, Oman.
The highly anticipated encounter will determine the group leaders and secure a place in the semi-finals for the top-ranked side. In another Group Two fixture, Iraq will meet host Oman.
The Blues head into the match full of confidence after making a strong start to the tournament, defeating Syria 3-0 in their opening game with an impressive performance that underlined their ambitions of challenging for the title.
Coach Julian Alvarez and his players are determined to continue their positive momentum and claim another victory over Qatar to finish top of the group and enter the knockout stage with a boost in confidence and performance.
The technical staff has spent the past training sessions preparing the squad physically and tactically, focusing on key areas including serving, reception and blocking, while aiming to build on the team’s winning start.
The championship continues today, Friday, with Syria facing Qatar in Group One, while Saudi Arabia takes on Lebanon in Group Two.
