Kuwait and Bahrain ends in a tie in West Asian youth football competitions

BAGHDAD, Nov 24: The Kuwait youth football team tied with its Bahraini counterpart with one goal each in a match that was held in the third round of the first group competitions of the West Asian Youth Football Championship which is currently being held in the Iraqi cities of Basra and Erbil.

The Bahraini team in the 45th minute of the match shot in a lead through Mubarak Mohammed, in the 79th minute Kuwait equalized through a penalty kick by Fahd Al-Azmi at the Palm Tree Stadium in Basra.

With this result, the Kuwaiti team’s are with four points from three matches, equal with Bahrain and are behind Iraq which has six points from two matches. The Palestinian team is on fourth with three points from two matches, and the Yemeni team is fifth without any points so far.

All matches of the first group will be held in Basra governorate, while the matches of the second group, which includes the teams of Jordan, Syria, Lebanon and the UAE, will be held in the governorate of Erbil.(KUNA)
