Kuwait and Bahrain discuss enhancing cooperation in diplomatic training

MANAMA, Oct 2: Kuwait and Bahrain reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening bilateral cooperation in the field of diplomatic training during a high-level meeting in Manama on Wednesday, where both sides exchanged views on enhancing professional development and digital transformation within their respective foreign ministries.

Assistant Foreign Minister for Diplomatic Institute Affairs at the Saud Al-Nasser Al-Sabah Institute, Ambassador Nasser Al-Subaih, met with Dr. Shaikha Muneera Al Khalifa, Director General of the Mohammed bin Mubarak Al-Khalifa Academy for Diplomatic Studies (MBMA), to discuss ongoing and future avenues of collaboration between the two institutions.

The meeting, held at the MBMA as part of Ambassador Al-Subaih’s official visit to the Kingdom of Bahrain, focused on enhancing the capabilities and training of diplomatic staff and modernizing diplomatic education through shared experiences and expertise.

Ambassador Al-Subaih praised the deep-rooted Kuwaiti-Bahraini ties and commended the academy's advanced training programs and strategic objectives, which he said play a vital role in building the competencies of foreign ministry personnel.

For her part, Dr. Shaikha Muneera welcomed the visiting Kuwaiti delegation, which included several Foreign Ministry officials, and underscored the strength of the historic fraternal relations between Bahrain and Kuwait. She emphasized that continued collaboration, particularly in diplomatic training and digitalization of administrative procedures, reflects the shared commitment of both countries to institutional development.

The meeting featured a detailed presentation on the MBMA’s current and future training strategies, including workshops and programs aimed at enhancing the skills of Foreign Ministry staff. Officials also reviewed the Academy’s digital platforms designed to boost efficiency and improve the overall quality of diplomatic work.

The visit reflects a growing emphasis on knowledge-sharing and institutional partnerships between the two Gulf states as they prepare their diplomatic corps for the evolving challenges of international engagement.
