MUSCAT, Oct 14: His Highness the Amir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah and his accompanying delegation arrived Tuesday in the Sultanate of Oman for a fraternal visit. At the forefront of those receiving His Highness upon arrival were Sultan Haitham bin Tariq, Deputy Prime Minister for Defense Affairs Sayyid Shihab bin Tariq Al Said, Minister of Culture, Sports and Youth Sayyid Theyazin bin Haitham Al Said, Minister of the Royal Office Khalid bin Hilal Al Busaidi, Minister of Interior Sayyid Hamoud bin Faisal Al Busaidi, Chief of the Special Office Dr. Hamad bin Said Al-Awfi, Chairman of the Oman Investment Authority Abdul Salam bin Mohammed Al Murshidi, Minister of Energy and Minerals Eng. Salem bin Nasser Al-Awfi, and Kuwait’s Ambassador to the Sultanate Dr. Mohammad Al-Hajri. His Highness the Amir was accompanied by Defense Minister Sheikh Abdullah Ali Abdullah Al-Salem Al-Sabah, Director General of the Kuwait Direct Investment Promotion Authority (KDIPA) Dr. Sheikh Meshaal Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, Chief of His Highness the Amir’s Office Retired Lieutenant General Jamal Theyab, Deputy Chairman and CEO of Kuwait Petroleum Corporation (KPC) Sheikh Nawaf Saud Al-Nasser Al- Sabah, and Managing Director of the Kuwait Investment Authority (KIA) Sheikh Saud Salem Abdulaziz Al-Sabah. At Al-Baraka Palace in Muscat, His Highness the Amir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al- Jaber Al-Sabah held talks with Sultan Haitham bin Tareq of the Sultanate of Oman.

During the meeting, the two leaders discussed the long-standing bilateral relations between Kuwait and Oman and ways to strengthen cooperation across various fields, particularly in the economic sector, aiming to enhance trade and investment coordination and integration to reinforce mutual interests and achieve further progress and prosperity. Members of His Highness the Amir’s accompanying delegation attended the meeting.

Sultan Haitham bin Tareq of the Sultanate of Oman later hosted a banquet at Al-Baraka Palace in honor of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah and his accompanying delegation. Concluding the visit, His Highness the Amir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah and his accompanying delegation departed Oman, where they were seen off by Sultan Haitham bin Tariq, Deputy Prime Minister for Defense Affairs, Shihab bin Tariq Al- Saeed, Minister of Culture, Sports and Youth, theyazan bin Haitham, Minister of the Diwan of Royal Court, Khalid Al-Busaidi, Minister of Interior, Homoud Al-Busaidi, Head of the Private Office, Dr. Hamad Al-Aufi, Chairman of the Oman Investment Authority, Abdulsalam Al-Marshidi and Kuwait Ambassador to Oman, Dr. Mohammad Nasser Al Hajri. His Highness the Amir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah sent on Tuesday a cable to the Sultan of Oman Haitham bin Tariq, expressing gratitude towards the great hospitality His Highness received during his fraternal visit to the Sultanate.

In the cable, His Highness the Amir said that he felt the Omani leadership and people’s great hospitality, affirming that it was another milestone in the historic relations between the two brotherly nations. His Highness the Amir also lauded the deep-rooted ties between the two countries and peoples, wishing the Sultan well-being and for the sultanate further progress and prosperity.(KUNA)
