KUWAIT CITY, Feb 15: His Highness the Amir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah received at Bayan Palace Sunday President of the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) and Qatar Olympic Committee Head Sheikh Joaan bin Hamad Al-Thani and his accompanying delegation. Sheikh Joaan conveyed to His Highness the Amir the greetings of Qatar’s Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani, along with wishes of good health for His Highness and continued progress and prosperity for Kuwait and its people. His Highness the Amir asked Sheikh Joaan to convey his greetings to the Qatari Amir, wishing him continued good health and further progress and prosperity for Qatar and its people. His Highness also congratulated Sheikh Joaan on his election as OCA president, commending his efforts in advancing sport at the regional and international levels. Additionally, His Highness the Amir reiterated Kuwait’s full support for OCA and relevant institutions to help strengthen the sports movement in Asia, wishing him continued success.

The meeting was attended by Minister of State for Youth and Sports Affairs Dr. Tareq Hamad Al-Jalahma, Director of His Highness the Amir’s Office Retired Lieutenant General Jamal Mohammad Al-Theyab, Amiri Diwan Undersecretary Sheikh Abdulaziz Meshal Mubarak Abdullah Al- Ahmad Al-Sabah, and Undersecretary for Foreign Affairs at the Amiri Diwan Mazen Issa Al-Issa. Similarly, His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al- Sabah received Sheikh Joaan during his official visit to Kuwait. Sheikh Joaan conveyed the greetings and appreciation of His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani, Amir of Qatar, and His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Hamad Al Thani, Deputy Amir. His Highness the Crown Prince congratulated Sheikh Joaan on his election as OCA President, wishing him continued success in advancing the Asian sports movement. (KUNA)
