KUWAIT CITY, Apr 14: The Ministry of Commerce and Industry has issued a new ministerial decision amending the classification of a commercial activity related to halal food services, as part of efforts to align with Gulf-wide standards.
Under Ministerial Decision No. (33) of 2026, the activity previously listed as “Halal Food Consulting and Laboratory Equipment” has been revised to “Halal Food Consulting” only. The activity falls under the Professional, Scientific, Technical, and Consulting Services sector.
The updated classification carries the international code 74909101 and will be regulated in coordination with the Public Authority for Food and Nutrition.
According to the ministry, the amendment is in line with the Unified Guide for Classifying Economic Activities adopted across Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries.
The decision came into effect on April 12, 2026, the date of its issuance.
