KUWAIT CITY, Apr 22: The General Directorate of Coast Guard has announced that fishing and recreational boats will be permitted to operate during daytime hours, from 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM, starting Friday, April 24, 2026, as part of efforts to regulate maritime traffic and enhance safety.
Director General Sheikh Mubarak Ali Al-Yousef said the decision follows an assessment of the current situation and aims to strike a balance between allowing marine activities and maintaining security across Kuwait’s waters.
He urged all sea users to strictly adhere to designated navigation zones and avoid approaching oil facilities and other vital installations, citing their importance to national security. Boat operators were also instructed to keep the Automatic Identification System (AIS) active at all times to support monitoring and enable rapid response when necessary.
Al-Yousef emphasized that coast guard teams will continue round-the-clock surveillance and called for full public cooperation to ensure safe and secure maritime operations.
