KUWAIT CITY, Oct 26: Kuwait Airways on Sunday signed a cooperation protocol with the Arab Open University (AOU) aimed at strengthening bilateral and strategic relations, the airline said in a press statement.
Chairman of Kuwait Airways, Abdulmohsen Al-Fagaan, said the agreement seeks to enhance operational efficiency and expand the range of services and options available to both institutions. The protocol also aims to facilitate the exchange of technical expertise to support overall development of the aviation sector, improve operational systems, and share knowledge related to public relations, corporate communication, media, academia, and technology in ways that benefit both parties.
Al-Fagaan emphasized that the protocol reflects Kuwait Airways’ commitment to building stronger partnerships, fostering cooperation, and supporting the advancement of the educational sector while enhancing the work environment.
The agreement includes specialized training programs for Kuwait Airways employees in fields such as management, leadership, information technology, digital transformation, languages, communication skills, professional certification, corporate social responsibility, and research projects in aviation management and smart services. The collaboration also covers sponsorship of university events, volunteer programs, and joint sustainability initiatives, including carbon reduction and promotion of green tourism.
For his part, Director of the Arab Open University in Kuwait, Dr. Salah Al-Hammadi, described the signing as a strategic step toward strengthening partnerships between higher education institutions and the national aviation sector. He said the agreement reflects AOU’s commitment to professional development and empowering national talent through specialized academic and training programs aligned with labor market needs.
Dr. Al-Hammadi added that the protocol will enable knowledge and experience exchange, providing students with practical training opportunities within professional work environments. He reaffirmed the university’s dedication to supporting state institutions in achieving sustainable development goals and the Kuwait Vision 2035.
The protocol marks a milestone in fostering cooperation between Kuwait’s aviation and educational sectors, opening new avenues for training, professional development, and operational advancement.
