KUWAIT CITY, May 9: Kuwait Airways confirmed on Saturday that it is gradually increasing flight operations from Kuwait International Airport’s Terminal 4 as part of a phased plan designed to balance rising travel demand with security requirements and operational safety standards.
Kuwait Airways said the plan is being implemented in coordination with relevant authorities, primarily the Ministry of Interior and the Directorate General of Civil Aviation, as the airline continues to operate under partial capacity.
The company noted that current operations remain limited, with flights running from Terminal 4 for approximately 8 to 10 hours daily. It added that international transit flights that normally connect through Kuwait Airport are still suspended during this phase due to ongoing security considerations.
To accommodate increased demand ahead of the Eid Al-Adha travel period, Kuwait Airways has increased its London service by one additional daily flight. The airline also said some May schedules have been adjusted due to the operational transfer of certain services from Dammam Airport in Saudi Arabia to Kuwait Airport.
The carrier explained that additional international approvals and permits are required for flights operating directly from Kuwait, as regulatory clearances differ from those previously issued for flights departing from Dammam. It stressed that schedule changes are not cancellations, but adjustments required to align with new permissions and available capacity.
Kuwait Airways said affected passengers will be offered alternative options, including rebooking on the nearest available dates, full refunds, or retaining ticket value as credit in their electronic wallet for future travel.
The airline reaffirmed that its operational strategy aims to maintain a balance between passenger demand and strict safety and security standards until full operations are progressively restored. It urged customers to monitor bookings through its official channels, including its website, KuwaitAirways.com, mobile application, or sales offices.
