Kuwait Airways Operates Special Flight to Repatriate Citizens from London via Saudi Arabia

KUWAIT CITY, Mar 7: Kuwait Airways announced on Saturday the arrival of a special flight carrying Kuwaiti citizens wishing to return home from London, which landed via King Fahd International Airport amid ongoing regional developments.

The repatriation flight was operated in coordination with Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the General Authority of Civil Aviation and other concerned authorities.

Acting Chief Executive Officer of Kuwait Airways, Abdulwahab Al‑Shatti, said the national carrier is prioritizing its national responsibility to serve Kuwait by facilitating the safe return of citizens from abroad.

He told Kuwait News Agency that the airline has mobilized its operational resources and workforce to support the repatriation effort in cooperation with government agencies, including the Kuwait Public Transport Company and other relevant bodies.

Al-Shatti said the flights are part of an integrated operational plan aimed at ensuring the orderly and safe return of citizens stranded abroad. He noted that the airline is closely monitoring passenger movements while maintaining constant coordination with authorities to ensure smooth travel and arrival procedures.

According to Al-Shatti, the repatriation process will take place gradually based on an operational schedule that will be implemented over the coming period to accommodate the largest possible number of citizens wishing to return.

He stressed that Kuwait Airways is committed to maintaining the highest standards of safety and security to protect passengers, flight crews and aircraft during the operations.

Al-Shatti also expressed appreciation to authorities in Saudi Arabia for their cooperation and support in facilitating the operation of flights and related procedures through airports in the kingdom.

Earlier this week, Kuwait Airways said citizens wishing to return to Kuwait could register to travel to Saudi Arabia by air and then proceed by land to Kuwait. The airline identified several departure cities, including London, Manchester, Paris, Milan, Barcelona, Munich, Istanbul, Cairo, Amman and Manila.

The initiative forms part of Kuwait’s broader efforts to assist citizens overseas during the current regional situation.
