KUWAIT CITY April 25: As part of security preparations for the resumption of operations at Kuwait International Airport, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior Major General Abdulwahab Ahmed Al-Wuhaib conducted an inspection tour on Saturday to assess the airport’s operational and security readiness.
He was received by Assistant Undersecretary for Supporting Security Services Major General Ali Mesfer Al-Adwani during the visit, which focused on evaluating preparations for the smooth handling of arriving and departing passengers.
Major General Al-Wuhaib conveyed the greetings of First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Fahad Yousef Saud Al-Sabah, highlighting the leadership’s strong emphasis on ensuring full readiness at air entry points. He stressed the need to enhance security efficiency while maintaining smooth passenger flow and ensuring swift processing without compromising screening standards.
During the tour, he reviewed operations across arrival and departure terminals, inspected the immigration department, and assessed security inspection procedures. He also examined mechanisms in place for managing passenger movement, noting the high level of coordination among relevant airport authorities.
Al-Wuhaib met with senior officials and personnel of the Ports Security Sector, urging them to intensify efforts, maintain high levels of preparedness, and strengthen coordination between field units to ensure seamless passenger movement and effective implementation of security protocols.
He underscored that the current phase requires heightened vigilance, stating that the Ministry of Interior has developed a comprehensive security plan for airport operations. The plan includes increasing security presence, improving operational efficiency, and fully utilizing available resources to ensure safe and orderly passenger processing under an integrated system.
