Kuwait Airport Customs seize 1,996 psychotropic pills from passenger arriving from Ethiopia

KUWAIT CITY: Customs inspectors at Terminal 4 of Kuwait International Airport foiled an attempt to smuggle 1,996 Rayol Fort tablets, classified as psychotropic substances, into Kuwait.

The tablets, containing the active ingredient tapentadol, were found in the possession of a passenger arriving from Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, according to the General Administration of Customs.

Customs officers seized the tablets following thorough inspection procedures and prepared an official seizure report. The suspect and the seized substances were subsequently referred to the General Department for Drug and Alcohol Control for further legal action.

The General Administration of Customs said it continues to strengthen controls at all entry points and take firm action against attempts to smuggle narcotic and psychotropic substances into Kuwait.
