Kuwait advances labor market modernization with new residency law
Public Authority for Manpower, Interior Ministry officials meet to develop work procedures for implementing the new residency law.

KUWAIT CITY, Jan 12: The Public Authority of Manpower held a high-level coordination meeting with the Ministry of Interior to develop work systems and mechanisms under the new residency law, the authority said.

The meeting was chaired by Eng. Rabab Al-Asimi, Director General of the Public Authority of Manpower, and brought together senior leadership from both institutions. It focused on implementing the new residency law, modernizing Kuwait’s labor system and procedures, achieving institutional integration, and keeping pace with the requirements of the next phase.

The meeting follows the issuance of Amiri Decree No. (114) of 2024 regarding the Law on the Residence of Foreigners and the new executive regulations. These measures reflect the state’s reform-oriented approach, serving the needs of the Kuwaiti labor market while enhancing its stability.

Eng. Al-Asimi said the ongoing coordination with the Ministry of Interior is part of the political leadership’s vision for Kuwait’s future, aimed at building an organized and flexible labor market directly linked to modern residency legislation. She added that the approach ensures integration between economic, regulatory, and security aspects, serving the public interest and supporting sustainable development in the country.
