KUWAIT CITY, Sept 4: Kuwait’s Ministry of Health (MoH) on Wednesday held a workshop titled “Drawing a Roadmap to Activate the Health Technology Assessment (HTA) System” under the patronage and attendance of Minister of Health Dr. Ahmad Al-Awadhi, with participation from ministry leaders, academic partners, and international organizations.

In a press statement, the ministry said the workshop is part of strategic steps stemming from Kuwait Vision 2035, aimed at consolidating evidence-based health decisions, enhancing transparency, and improving spending efficiency.

The event featured international participation, including Professor Zoltán Kaló and the Syreon Research Institute, to document Kuwait’s experience globally.

Topics discussed included a shared vision for HTA, principles of balanced decision-making, institutional governance, creation of a national database, and capacity building in technical expertise.

The workshop concluded with key outcomes, notably the adoption of an approved roadmap and a timetable for implementation and follow-up. The ministry stated that the outcomes would enhance Kuwait’s regional and international standing in the field of modern health policies.
