KUWAIT CITY, Dec 20: The Kuwaiti Directorate General of Civil Aviation announced that, based on the instructions of the health authorities, the United Kingdom has been added to high-risk countries, from which flights are prohibited from entering the State of Kuwait. The decision will take effect from tomorrow, Monday, at 11 am Kuwait time.

The Ministry of Health addressed the Directorate General of Civil Aviation regarding adding the United Kingdom to the list of high-risk countries based on the study and analysis of the global epidemiological situation of the Coronavirus. This means that the passengers traveling from United Kingdom will have to spend 14 days in non banned countries before entering Kuwait

British Prime Minister Boris Johnson and scientists announced on Saturday that the new virus strain had led to a sharp rise in the number of infected people. The British government has tightened restrictions on COVID-19 in London and surrounding areas and disrupted plans for the Christmas holidays for millions of people.

Several European countries imposed new restrictions on travel to and from Britain today, Sunday, due to concern about a new strain of Corona virus spreading rapidly there.
