KUWAIT CITY, Mar 31: Kuwait Petroleum Corporation announced that the crew of the giant Kuwaiti crude oil tanker Al-Salmi successfully extinguished a fire that broke out early Tuesday following a direct Iranian attack while the vessel was anchored off the coast of Dubai.
In a statement carried by Kuwait News Agency, KPC said the crew acted immediately, bringing the fire under control and fully extinguishing it at 4:26 a.m. Kuwait time, under the guidance of its management and crisis response teams, and in coordination with UAE authorities.
The corporation confirmed that all 24 crew members are safe, with no injuries reported, and that there was no oil spill or environmental damage in the surrounding waters. Authorities are continuing to assess the extent of the damage and will take necessary measures in line with established safety standards.
