KUWAIT CITY, March 5: Chief Executive Officer of the Kuwait Petroleum Corporation (KPC) Sheikh Nawaf Saud Al-Nasser Al-Sabah affirmed on Wednesday that the corporation has implemented rigorous, well-studied contingency plans to effectively navigate various crises and potential regional scenarios. In a statement to the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA), Sheikh Nawaf Al-Sabah underscored that a comprehensive strategy is operational to ensure the seamless fulfillment of local market requirements amidst the current regional situation. He emphasized that the occupational safety of the oil sector workforce and the integrity of upstream and downstream operations remain the corporation’s paramount priorities.
The CEO noted that KPC’s emergency protocols undergo systematic review and periodic updates, complemented by regular drills and training programs designed to bolster institutional preparedness and ensure an agile response to any developments. Sheikh Nawaf further clarified that the corporation’s procedural framework is predicated on safeguarding its personnel while simultaneously guaranteeing the uninterrupted supply of essential petroleum derivatives- primarily gasoline, diesel, and liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) cylinders-to the domestic market.
Significantly, the CEO revealed that KPC maintains an extensive, long-term strategic reserve of these essential products. He confirmed that this stockpile remains untouched, as crude oil production and refining operations continue at normal levels, fully meeting local demand. He concluded by commending the dedication of oil sector personnel stationed at vital installations, whose efforts safeguard the stability of the Kuwaiti economy’s “lifeblood” by ensuring the efficient and continuous delivery of energy supplies.(KUNA)
